Alexander Technique Group Workshop

Alexander Technique Group Workshop

My group workshops offer a welcoming space to explore the principles of the Alexander Technique in a collaborative setting. Whether you're new to the method or looking to deepen your understanding, these sessions provide hands-on support, verbal guidance, and observational techniques to help you move with greater awareness, ease, and coordination. Each workshop empowers participants with practical tools to enhance everyday movement and foster long-term well-being.

Hands-on Guidance:
I use gentle, skilled hands-on contact to help my students perceive their current patterns of use and experience new, more expansive coordination. This tactile feedback is essential for re-educating their sensory awareness.

Verbal Instruction:
I offer precise verbal cues and explanations to guide students’ thinking and direct their attention toward more conscious, effective movement.

Observation:
I teach students to observe themselves—and sometimes others—to build self-awareness and recognize patterns of tension and misuse.

Everyday Activities:
I apply the principles of the Alexander Technique to everyday movements such as sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching, as well as to activities specific to each student, like playing an instrument or public speaking.

Education and Re-education:
The Alexander Technique is, at its core, an educational process. I’m not treating symptoms, but teaching students a lifelong skill set for conscious self-control and self-awareness—tools they can carry into all aspects of their lives.
